Pollutions Keep the evironment clean
We are aware of the impact of our action on the environment and we are working towards achieving zero tolerance to environmental pollution. At GREL a Workgroup on Pollution was set up in 2008 to identify the priorities and draw an action plan on the most urgent measures to take in each department against Pollutions They presented their first report to ensure Management in January 2009. In addition to the Environmental Management Plan (EMP) a new procedure has been designed for reporting Environmental Hazards and Incident. Major areas of environmental pollution have been identified and action plans have been developed to take care of them.
To achieve success in the area of pollution a policy has been put in place to guide the performances of our operation.
Our Policy on Pollution is “Judicious uses of resources and to guide our operations in accordance with all statutory requirements to prevent or reduce and as far as possible eliminate environmental pollution and nuisance to attainable sustainable development.”
To achieve this “Zero Pollution” we are continuously improving the environmental performance in the following areas: oil spillage and recycling, littering, and water pollution. through
- Developing an open communication with employees, suppliers, customers, neighbours and members of the general public regarding our policy on and management of environmental matters
- Educate and train employees in the conduct of operations in an environmentally responsible manner and the assignment of competent personnel to supervise such operations (strict adherence to FTI’s and written instructions at workplaces
- To minimize the release from our operations, constituents that may cause pollution or environmental damage, whenever practicable.
- To ensure efficient use of raw materials, energy and fuel
- To integrate environmental considerations into decision making at all levels
- To ensure continuous improvement of environmental performance for consideration in the Environmental Protection Agency’s Annual Continuous Environmental Improvement Awards
Communities Peaceful co-existence for sustaninable development in communities
