Workplace Health & Safety Policy

In 2007, SIFCA Group launched a Sustainable Development program, aimed at setting the best known standards in the industry, including management of Health and Safety at work. In 2008, an action plan was drawn that established our objectives for technological risks management and the security of our personnel at work, it is driven by our continuous progress approach.
This objective is perfectly compatible with the sustanined profitability targets, the ethics and values shared within the SIFCA Group.

We are specifically committed to the following points:
  • Sustainable Development
We shall endeavour to minimize and if possible eliminate all the risks and negative effects our activities could pose in the area of health and safety.
  •  Personnel
We wish to guarantee to all staff in the Group that their tools and equipment are safe, their work place healthy, and that all risks of accident and illnesses are minimized. We shall reduce the risks by the analysis and evaluation of solutions to increase safety and by the implementation of vigorous prevention campaigns. 
 
We will make sure that all staff are sensitized and participate in our Health and Safety policy and are trained to apply it. Each person will be aware of his individual responsibility towards preventing accidents and reducing health hazards.
  •  Safety Culture
We shall reinforce our safety culture and will share it with all Group personnel as well as the staff of our service providers.
  •  Respect of Law and Regulations
The SIFCA Group, wherever it operates, pledges to respect the local laws and regulations setup, as well as defined professional recommendations. This is applicable in the area of health and safety. The Health and Safety requirements of the SIFCA Group will also apply.
  •  Suppliers and Sub-Contractors
All suppliers and sub-contractors are to respect our Health and Safety policy. Their commitment to the respect of the policy and the extent to which they apply safety and health measures will form part of the appraisal of their performance. We shall cooperate in all possible manners with them to improve our safety records.
  •  Local and National Health and Safety Programs
Wherever our activities are located, we shall willingly take part in the local and national initiatives around Health and Safety.
  •  Health and Safety Management
We commit ourselves to improve in a consistent manner our performance in terms of H&S. We implement H&S related management systems which are adapted to the specificities of our activities. 

Those systems are regularly re-appraised by measuring the performance achieved, defining progress objectives, implementing action plans and organizing the necessary audits. Our process is based on information and experience sharing, cooperation and training.
  •  Transparency
We shall continuously adopt a transparent and cooperative attitude will all stakeholders in respect of our H&S policy, its results, it objectives and its achievements.
